What causes pelvic organ prolapse?

Women who are diagnosed with this condition will often ask what caused the issue. For some, it’s a family history of pelvic organ prolapse, while for others, it is the weaking of the pelvic organs from obesity, pregnancy, and childbirth. Age, previous pelvic surgeries, and menopause may also cause pelvic organ prolapse to occur. During an evaluation, our team can assess the pelvic area and determine the cause of the problem after offering a definitive diagnosis.
