Testing Hormone Levels
The ability to test hormone levels and provide treatment based on these results, has greatly improved the management of symptoms caused by hormone dysfunction. Patients that have high or low thyroid problems can appreciate the value in testing hormone levels to determine the proper dosage.
Similar testing can be done to determine the level of estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, cortisol and other hormones to optimize your treatment. For most patients, I recommend a simple blood test to guide therapy. Although popular, saliva testing has no proven benefit over blood testing and its consistency is questionable, therefore we do not offer it.
