Get to Know BTL EMSELLA | Regain Confidence
BTL EMSELLA™ is a new treatment procedure for incontinence that utilizes high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology, aka “HIFEM Technology”, to stimulate, strengthen, and restore neuromuscular control to deep pelvic floor muscles. This revolutionary non-surgical procedure takes on all the work and time out of strengthening pelvic floor muscles on your own, and with no downtime.
Key effectiveness comes from the concentrated electromagnetic energy, stimulation, and in-depth penetration therapy to the muscles of the entire pelvic floor region.
Regular Kegel exercises can bring about modest results over time. However, in a single BTL EMSELLA treatment session, you receive tens of thousands of Kegel contractions. These contractions play a crucial role in the muscle re-education of incontinent patients.
See If You’re a Candidate
Did you know that over 25 million Americans suffer from incontinence and bladder leakage? Most of this population consists of women who very likely have weak pelvic floor muscles and Kegels no longer provide an effective solution.
To learn if you’re a candidate for BTL EMSELLA, take this brief 5-question quiz and discover next steps.
- Have you given birth to one or more children?
- Does laughing or sneezing cause leakage?
- Or, do you have sudden and frequent urges to urinate?
- Has bladder leaking limited sexual activity or exercise in any way?
- Have you reached menopause?
If you answered YES to one or more of these risk factors, you may be a good candidate for the BTL EMSELLA treatment procedure. It’s time to take the next step and connect with Woodlands OBGYN Associates.
Does BTL EMSELLA Treatment Hurt?
No. Emsella works through powerful energy that travels directly to the pelvic floor muscles to stimulate ultra-fast, deep contractions. As you sit through your treatments, you can expect to feel a tingling sensation in your pelvic area. The sensation is subtle and resolves very quickly once the treatment is over. You can expect to go about your day as usual without any lingering side effects.
How Long Does BTL EMSELLA Treatment Last?
Each of your Emsella sessions at our Conroe, TX office will last about half an hour. There is no preparation needed, nor any downtime. Just thirty minutes, a few times a week for a few weeks and you can feel like your most confident self again!
How Quickly Does BTL EMSELLA Bring Noticeable Results?
You might feel like you have better bladder control after your very first Emsella treatment. However, you can also expect your symptoms to gradually improve over time. As you move through your treatment sessions, you may gain more and more comfort and confidence with each passing day. Some studies suggest that results are undeniable by two to four weeks post-treatment.
How Many Sessions are Needed for BTL EMSELLA to Start Working?
Your pelvic floor will gain some degree of tone and strength after your very first Emsella treatment. That said, just like it takes time for you to build muscle at the gym, you'll need a series of Emsella sessions to makeover your pelvic floor. While you can expect to start feeling a difference right away, your provider may recommend about six sessions total to achieve lasting results.
Exactly How Effective is BTL EMSELLA at Reducing or Stopping Female Incontinence?
BTL, the maker of the Emsella "Kegel Throne," states that five clinical studies on the device have been published. According to patient reports, 95% claim to have a better quality of life after completing their treatments. Approximately 75% of the patients involved in research studies report a reduction or elimination of pad usage.

The treatment session requires you to simply sit on the chair, relaxed and fully clothed. As you sit, the procedure begins, and you’ll start to experience tingling and contractions in the pelvic floor muscles. Up to 11,200 Kegel contractions per session!
Immediately after the procedure, you can resume your normal daily activities. Similar to most patients, you may notice improvement after the first session or multiple sessions. Once your results are noticeable, improvements will continue to progress after each session. Realistically, optimal results and functional relief will be achieved weeks after you’ve completed your full treatment protocol.
Follow-up treatments can be scheduled as needed and vary per individual. Though the treatment itself is not covered by insurance, an initial exam will be required and is billable to insurance.
